LC Camilo Prada Child Development Center hosts record-breaking St. Jude Trike-A-Thon

Providing quality care for children from Laredo and the surrounding communities by promoting cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills is at the core of the Laredo College Camilo Prada Child Development Center. In keeping with this mission, the center recently held its 15th Annual St. Jude Trike-A-Thon at the Laredo College South Campus.

The St. Jude Trike-A-Thon is a fun and educational way to teach children how to make a difference for St. Jude kids battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The event seeks to energize and encourage participants to grow their empathy skills while also learning trike and riding toy safety.

This year’s event not only brought together the center’s  students for a morning of fun activities but also achieved a record-breaking fundraising effort to support children with catastrophic illnesses.

With a lofty $8,000 goal, the Camilo Prada Palo-Minis and their families surpassed that goal with $10,430 raised. The funds will go directly to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, aiding in their mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and their families for their continued support of such a worthy cause,” Camilo Prada Director Maria Martinez said. “Their dedication and generosity have made a significant impact, and we are grateful for the community’s involvement.”
