LC opening its doors for the Laredo College Open House

With Laredo College offering a wide array of affordable, high-quality academic, continuing education and workforce programs, the Office of Recruitment and Dual Enrollment is inviting the community to dive right in for a day during its Laredo College Open House.

Bringing together many LC programs and departments, the event is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18 at the historic Ft. McIntosh Campus Kazen Student Center from 5:30 to 8 p.m. A South Campus open house is planned for the spring semester to ensure the entire community has a great experience closer to home when exploring LC’s offerings.

Like the informative, program-specific open houses offered throughout the year, the Laredo College Open House will bring together programs in a choose-your-own-adventure style for exploration and information gathering. To ensure this adventure is smooth for everyone, Enrollment Management offices will be available to help with advising, registration, financial aid, scholarship applications and more.

Prospective and current students will be able to speak to their future instructors, experts in their fields for each program, before touring the institution’s labs for a firsthand look at what they will work on once in the program. This is a perfect opportunity for high school students and community members alike to sample any of LC’s programs that intrigue them.

Additionally, it’s a great time for seniors to get a jump on applications for admissions, financial aid and scholarships, making sure everything’s squared away before their college journey begins.

Current students from some of the programs will also be available to share their stories. From their first day in class to exciting moments in labs, visitors are encouraged to ask questions and imagine themselves as students in their program of interest.
