LC announces closures, promotes student safety ahead of spring break

Laredo College is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its students during the upcoming holiday. The college will be closed from March 9 through March 13 for spring break.

As part of its ongoing efforts to educate students about safety, multiple departments participated in the annual “Safe and Sober” event hosted by the Office of Student Life at the South Campus and the “Spring Break: Splash Fest” hosted by the Recreation and Esports Department at the Ft. McIntosh Campus. Both events focused on helping students stay safe while enjoying their break.

In addition to mocktails, music, food and other activities, the Laredo College Police Department conducted field sobriety tests using impairment goggles to simulate intoxication. The demonstration highlighted how alcohol affects drivers and can lead to serious or fatal consequences.

LC departments such as LEAD and Health & Wellness provided students with important information about making safe and responsible choices during spring break.

Laredo College wishes all students, faculty and staff a safe and enjoyable spring break. College offices at both campuses will resume normal operations Monday, March 16 at 8 a.m.
