Hundreds with big hearts give back for The Big Event

The Big Event saw the combined forces of Laredo College and the Texas A&M International University students working together to give back to their community. The event is an opportunity to demonstrate both their sense of philanthropy and the bonds amid the art of giving.

On Saturday, students from both institutions worked to clean and renovate the Paso Del Indio Trail, Chacon Creek and help the South Texas Food Bank with their daily services. The pairing of green and maroon was a wonderful sight to see as it washed over the three sights, working toward beautifying some of Laredo’s natural wonders.

The work was dirty, the day was long and feet were surely sore, but Paso Del Indio and Chacon Creek benefited from the tender love and care given by the students. At the South Texas Food Bank, the group was split into two, assembly and delivery, which the appreciation of those who received the care package could be seen through their smiles.
