With opportunity around every corner, the Laredo College Open House is brimming with exciting news and information on what may be the next step for those who visit. This spring, the event will be hosted on Thursday, April 16 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the South Campus Billy Hall Jr. Student Center.
Campus tours will be available and will feature program sites such as the Raquel González Automotive Technology Center, the College of Health Sciences Building and the Academic and Advanced Technology Center. Visitors may meet their upcoming instructors or step into the state-of-the-art facilities they may soon work in during their LCstudies.
Bringing together many Laredo College programs and departments, the open house is planned to ensure that the entire community has a great experience closer to home when exploring LC’s offerings at its beautiful South Campus. The event will bring together programs in a choose-your-own-adventure style for exploration and information gathering such as the Transportation Technology Program, Child Development Program, Health Sciences programs and more.
To ensure this adventure is smooth for everyone, Enrollment Management offices will be available to help with advising, registration, financial aid, scholarship applications and more. Additionally, it’s a great time for seniors to get a jump on their applications, making sure everything’s squared away before their college journey begins.
With Maymester, summer and fall registration open, students can experience a campus tour chock-full of information that leads to a convenient registration opportunity all in one place. LC encourages current and prospective students to take full advantage of the registration period to avoid any delays as time moves ever closer to the next first day of class.
Prospective and current students will be able to speak to their future instructors, who are experts in their fields for each program, before touring the institution’s labs for a firsthand look at what they will work on once in the program. This is a perfect opportunity for high school students and community members alike to sample any of LC’s programs that intrigue them.
Current students from some of the programs will also be available to share their stories. From their first day in class to exciting moments in labs, visitors are encouraged to ask questions and imagine themselves as students in their program of interest.
