Laredo College’s web-based learning management system Canvas is currently experiencing a system outage affecting access and functionality.
The issue appears to be part of a broader incident involving Instructure, the provider of the Canvas Learning Management System, and is not isolated to the college.
The college is actively monitoring the situation and coordinating with Instructure for updates. Faculty, staff and students may experience difficulty accessing courses, assignments, messages or other Canvas services until the outage is resolved.
While there are reports that Canvas services may be gradually returning, some users may still experience intermittent issues as systems continue to stabilize. The college will continue testing system functionality. Out of an abundance of caution, we ask that students and employees refrain from using Canvas at this time until further notice.
Students and employees are encouraged to monitor Laredo College’s social media, website, email and other official communication channels for updates and additional guidance. Students should also wait for guidance from faculty regarding coursework and deadlines affected by the outage.
