LC remembers sacrifice with Memorial Day closure

The Laredo College District will close on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. College services and classes will resume regular operations on Tuesday, May 26 at 8 a.m.

With its military roots, Laredo College honors those service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this great country. With over 75 years of military history at the Ft. McIntosh Campus, our institution wouldn’t be the same without the foundation laid by those who fought and died for our freedoms.

“Memorial Day is a solemn reminder of the courage and sacrifice of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country,” Laredo College President Dr. Minita Ramírez said. “At Laredo College, our history is deeply rooted in that legacy of service, and we remain committed to honoring those who served by supporting returning servicemembers and their dependents with a high-quality education. It is our privilege to help provide the tools they need to succeed, and to ensure every individual who comes through our doors is met with gratitude, dignity and respect.”
