LC Health Sciences summer camp ready to ignite passion in community children

School’s almost out, and parents are gearing up to keep kids active and inspired. Laredo College is stepping up with its health sciences summer camp at the South Campus College of Health Sciences from June 8 to June 11.

The camp is an amazing opportunity for children from 8th to 10th grade as they learn about the six different healthcare fields Laredo College offers: Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Services, Physical Therapist Assistant, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiology and Nursing.

Space is limited and will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Camp hours will be from from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Breakfast and lunch are included throughout the weeklong camp.

Registration is $50 per child, and the deadline to register and pay is Friday, June 5 by 11 a.m. To learn more about the summer camp, register and pay the registration fee, visit go.laredo.edu/hscamp2026.

This specialized camp will be run by Laredo College faculty, all of whom are licensed or certified health professionals, and LC students with hands-on externship clinical experience. The plethora of fields and interesting subjects they will cover is sure to keep campers’ minds racing and engaged, learning as they have fun.

Campers will engage in hands-on activities that will let them learn about basic anatomy and diseases, solve medical mysteries and perform patient simulations using cutting-edge technologies in the same labs and classrooms LC students use for their clinical training. A ceremony of completion will take place on the last day of camp, Thursday, June 11 at 2 p.m.
