To ensure students are prepared and have access to the resources needed for a successful start to the fall semester, Laredo College is hosting Palomino Prep Friday on Aug. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. LC staff will be available at both the Ft. McIntosh and South campuses to help students register and prepare for the start of fall classes on Monday, Aug. 24.
Palomino Prep Friday will be held at the Ft. McIntosh Lerma-Peña Building and the South Campus Billy Hall Jr. Student Center on the first floor. The extended hours are provided for students’ convenience and offer an opportunity to start, restart or continue their education at LC without missing the beginning of the upcoming semester.
Staff from the Admissions Office, Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid Office, Advising Center, Bursar’s Office, Recruitment and Dual Enrollment, Assessment Center, Veterans Services and other departments will be available to assist students and answer questions about the college’s programs and career pathways.
First-time students are encouraged to bring required documents needed to complete their financial aid application and admissions process, such as an official high school transcript, GED certificate and proof of the bacterial meningitis vaccine.
“We understand how important it is for students to have easy access to the resources they need, and Palomino Prep Friday is designed to be a one-stop shop where students can connect with our departments before the start of the new semester,” LC Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Jessica Treviño said. “Our dedicated staff will be available to ensure that students have everything in place for a successful fall semester.”
