The Laredo College Health Sciences Division is opening its doors to the community on Oct. 20 for its annual open house. With all the college’s health sciences departments participating, those interested in a fulfilling career can begin their journey by engaging with program staff and talented students.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., visitors can tour the College of Health Sciences and learn more about the facilities, technology and staff that are crucial to developing the next generation of healthcare professionals in the South Texas region.
The eight programs participating in the open house are: Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Emergency Medical Services, Medical Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology and Vocational Nursing.
The open house will also feature participation from Workforce Programs. This collaboration will showcase the diverse educational and career pathways available to students. LC encourages students from 9th to 12th grade to attend and explore a potential and rewarding career path after high school graduation.
Additionally, the Health Sciences Division programs will feature student presentations and hands-on learning opportunities, allowing visitors to experience the learning that students in these programs are engaged in. Over the years, visitors have observed the wide array of equipment, techniques and guidance that LC health sciences students use to transform into highly trained healthcare professionals.
