Falcon Bank donation helps stock LC’s Palomino Pantry

Laredo College’s Palomino Pantry received a generous donation from longtime supporter and community partner Falcon Bank, reflecting their ongoing commitment to supporting local students and families across the region.

“As a former Palomino, I’m especially proud to see Falcon Bank giving back to a college that means so much to our community and the students it serves,” Falcon Bank Assistant Vice President Alyssa Osorio said. “Through our partnership with Laredo College, we’re able to support students who are the future of Laredo and contribute to the continued growth of our community.”

In partnership with the Texas Bankers Association, Falcon Bank hosted its second annual Texas Banks Community Day of Service. On Oct. 20, the bank distributed donations collected through the initiative, which brought together Falcon branches across Laredo, Zapata, Eagle Pass, Del Rio, Stone Oak, Buda, Bandera, Brownsville and McAllen, in a community-wide effort to collect non-perishable food items, pet food, blankets and cases of water.

To support organizations in each of the communities Falcon Bank serves, the donations were distributed among several local organizations, including the Palomino Pantry, United Way of Laredo and Texas A&M International University’s Dusty Pantry, helping ensure students and families have access to essential resources.

“We are very thankful to Falcon Bank for thinking of our students and supporting the Palomino Pantry,” Laredo College Director of Student Life Pedro Rivera said. “Every donation helps us meet real needs on our campus. It’s encouraging to see local organizations come together to support student success and make sure our students have the resources they need to thrive.”

The Palomino Pantry was established to help address food insecurity and basic needs challenges faced by Laredo College students. The pantry provides access to groceries, snacks, clothing, hygiene products, school supplies and other essential items, helping students stay focused on their education and overall well-being.
