At Laredo College, a student’s academic standing is assigned based on overall grade point average (GPA). A student’s academic standing determines if their enrollment at the institution will be continued without restrictions or continued with restrictions. There are four academic standings that can be assigned.

This standing is assigned to students who earn an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher at the end of every term attended.
Warning
This standing is assigned to students who were on good standing but whose overall GPA fell below 2.0 at the end of their last term attended.
Suspension
This standing is assigned to students whose overall GPA fell below 2.0 for two consecutive terms.
Probation
This standing is assigned to students who submit a Request for Academic Probation following a suspension or who were already on probation, made forward progress (overall GPA is below 2.0 while current term GPA is 2.0 or higher) and submitted an Acknowledgment of Academic Probation.
