FAQs

Transferring to a university takes 3 simple steps:

1. Review admission requirements and application deadline for the university you plan to transfer. 

2. Apply for general admmission at either www.goapplytexas.org or www.commonapp.org. 

3. Submit official transcripts from every institution you have attended. 

Note: Review program requirements if applying to a specific program. 

We strongly encourage you meet the priority deadline, if one has been given. By meeting the priority deadline, you will be given preferred consideration for admission. If you meet the final deadline, you will be considered for admission after all others who met the priority deadline. The priority deadline does not guarantee admission, but it does guarantee that you will be considered first for admission. 

Laredo College offers 2 options to order a transcript:

1. Online - order through Parchment (highly recommended)

2. In person at the Office of the Registrar:

   • Fort McIntosh Campus - Lerma-Peña Building Rm. 116

   • South Campus - Billy Hall Student Center Rm. A109

You must submit two (2) transcripts. The first (1) is submitted when you first apply for admission. The second (2) is submitted after you are done with your final semester at Laredo College. 

• Transferability - refers to credits being passed from one institution to another through official transcripts. 

• Applicability - refers to credits being used to satisfy specific course requirements in a degree

Note: All credits can transfer, but not all credits can apply to a degree.

You can visit our Transfer Services page, (contact your university rep) where you will find contact information for a representative from each institution listed. If your transfer university is not included on our list, you can visit the Advising Center at either college campus for assistance. 

Articulation agreement is a contract that two institutions (e.g. colleges & universities) enter to guarantee that courses completed at one institution transfer and apply at the other.
