Consent to Receive Messages (Opt-In)
You may opt in to receive text messages from Laredo College by:
- Submitting an online form requesting information from the College;
- Providing your mobile telephone number during an admissions, enrollment, advising, financial aid, student services, or College-related interaction;
- Submitting an admissions application or other College-related form;
- Providing your phone number during a transaction or service interaction with the College; or
- Responding affirmatively to an invitation or opt-in message to receive text communications
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of admission, enrollment, employment, receipt of services, or participation in any College program.
Message Frequency
Message frequency may vary depending on your interactions with Laredo College and the services for which you have requested or consented to receive communications.

Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Recipients are responsible for any charges associated with receiving text messages from Laredo College.

Prohibited Information
Laredo College employees and approved messaging applications shall not request or transmit the following through SMS/MMS:
- Social Security numbers;
- Passwords or authentication credentials;
- One-time verification codes;
- Banking information;
- Payment card information; or
- Other sensitive personal, financial, or confidential information.
If you receive a text message requesting this type of information while claiming to be from Laredo College, do not respond and contact the College immediately through an official College contact method.
User Responsibilities
By using Laredo College text messaging services, users acknowledge and agree that:
- They are the authorized user of the mobile number provided;
- They have authority to receive communications at the mobile number provided;
- They will keep their contact information current;
- Any content they submit through the SMS/MMS service complies with applicable laws and regulations;
- They will not use the SMS/MMS service for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, or misleading purposes; and
- They will not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or misuse the SMS/MMS service, including sending spam, malware, or unauthorized communications.

Delays or failures in message delivery may occur due to factors outside the control of the College, including carrier outages, network issues, device settings, or technical interruptions.
