Program Overview
The Professional Bus Driver program at Laredo College prepares students to earn a Texas Class B Commercial Driver License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement. Aligned with FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards, the program offers comprehensive instruction through a combination of virtual simulation and hands-on Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) training. It meets all state and federal requirements and is coordinated with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS).

Registration Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid Texas Class C Driver License
- U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Proficient in English to meet FMCSA communication standards
- Must complete a DOT physical and drug screening prior to testing
Additional Notes
This program is offered exclusively at Laredo College South Campus.
DOT physical exams and drug testing are included in tuition and fees after obtaining the Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP).
Out-of-pocket expenses may include the initial DOT drug test for admission and any DPS-related fees for permits, licenses, and endorsements.
Upon completion, students will be scheduled for their on-site CDL exam at LC’s certified testing facility.
