All Laredo College Honors Program applicants must meet the following requirements in order to apply for admission: 1. Must be a legal resident within the geographic area of Laredo and/or Webb County and at the discretion of the Laredo College Honors Program Director, a county which is contiguous to Webb County.
2. To qualify for consideration in the Laredo College Honors Program, a student must be eligible to take college-level courses. To receive the Laredo College Honors Program Academic Scholarship, a student must be exempt from taking a Texas Success Initiative 2 Exam (TSI2) or pass all portions of a TSI2 exam. AND must meet at least ONE of the following requirements: a) SAT Score - 1100 (verbal and math only) or higherb) ACT Score - 24 or higherc) Graduation in the Top 20% of their high school class d) Maintain a cumulative high school GPA of 95.000 or higher and/or 3.500 GPA or higher e) If a student has student completed college credit while in high school, the student must have a 3.000 GPA or higher, no withdrawals from courses, and no grade below a “C.” 3. Students who qualify must complete the application form provided here. And attach the following documents:
- Two-Page Laredo College Honors Program Application
- Laredo College Honors Program Essay (one page in length)
- Two letters of recommendation (from a counselor, teacher, advisor, or employer)
- Unofficial College and/or High School Transcripts
- Student Resume
- All SAT/ACT/AP Exam Scores (if taken)
Final selection of applicants will be based upon an interview with the Laredo College Honors Program Director and/or Laredo College Honors Program Faculty Interview Committee.
To maintain eligibility in the Laredo College Honors Program, a student must maintain an overall 3.250
