Welcome to Laredo College Upward Bound
Laredo College Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. Our mission is to prepare high school students for success in higher education by providing academic support, college readiness services, and opportunities that inspire students to achieve their educational and career goals.
For more than 60 years, the Laredo College Upward Bound Program has proudly served first-generation and income-eligible students, helping them develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to graduate from high school, enroll in college, and earn a bachelor's degree.
Our program serves students from participating high schools by offering year-round educational services at no cost to participants and their families.
What We Offer
Students in Upward Bound receive comprehensive support, including:
- Academic instruction in mathematics, science, English, and writing
- College preparation and study skills workshops
- SAT, ACT, and TSIA preparation
- Academic advising and tutoring
- College admissions and financial aid assistance
- Career exploration and leadership development
- Cultural enrichment activities
- Educational field trips and college campus visits
- Summer academic enrichment programs
- Parent engagement activities
