Disability Services

Disability Services offers specialized services to students with disabilities to allow them equal access to college programs and services as mandated by Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Under ADA, an individual with a disability is regarded as one who has any of the following: has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; has record of such impairment; and/or is regarded as having such impairment. Our philosophy is to provide an education for individuals with disabilities through equal access, empowerment, support resources, advocacy, collaboration throughout the college campus and the community. 

 Eligibility 

Any student attending Laredo College who has an impairment which substantially limits a major life activity is eligible to receive services. This includes students with learning disabilities, those who are physically challenged, those with mental health issues and those with other circumstances limiting major life activities. The disability must be supported by objective documentation.  If objective documentation is not available, please contact Disability Services.

 Documents Required

  • Palomino ID number 
  • Disability Services Application
  • Diagnostic Information (Current-3 years from one of the following): 
    • ARD/504 from school district 
    • Evaluation from medical provider
    • Evaluation from social service agency (e.g. Texas Workforce Solutions Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Border Region Behavioral Health Center, etc.)
Students should contact Disability Services as soon as possible as timely notice is needed to coordinate accommodations.
