Financial Aid Displacement Advisory

Financial Aid Displacement Advisory

In accordance with Senate Bill 2995 and Texas Education Code 56.0094(c), Laredo College is committed to helping prospective and current students understand how to apply for and maintain financial aid.
Financial aid displacement occurs when your financial aid is reduced because you receive additional funding from an outside source, such as a private scholarship, employer, or community organization. In some cases, need-based grants, loans, or other aid must be adjusted if your total financial aid exceeds your demonstrated financial need or the cost of attendance established by the college.
When you apply for financial aid or receive outside scholarships, it is important to understand that these adjustments may occur so that your total aid package remains within federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
