- Will my financial aid de authorized to cover my first and second 8-week courses?
- Yes, financial aid office authorizes first and second 8-week courses at the time of enrollment. However, disbursement of financial aid funds for 8-week courses are processed after reporting date (census date). See refund table above.
- Will there be two refunds for the Fall 2023 semester if I am registered full time and two classes begin the first 8-weeks and the other two classes begin the second 8-weeks?
- Yes, there will be two refund dates. See example below:

- Do I have to accept my Pell award?

- What happens to my financial aid if I drop a class?
- If the student drops a class BEFORE reporting date but remains enrolled at least one credit hour, the financial aid award will be adjusted to eligible enrolled course(s) as of reporting date.
- If the student drops a class AFTER reporting date but remains enrolled at least one credit hour, the financial aid award will pay for the course(s). However, it may affect student SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) at the end of the payment period (End of semester) and will determine financial aid eligibility for the following semester.
- What happens to my financial aid if I drop my first 8-week courses but decide to attend second 8-week courses?
- Drops BEFORE reporting date- Financial Aid funds are removed and will not cover first 8-week course(s). Second 8-week courses are still financial aid eligible until second 8-week reporting date.
- Drops AFTER reporting date-Student is eligible for financial aid funds for the first 8-week course(s). Second 8-week courses are still financial aid eligible until second 8-week reporting date. However, it will affect SAP at the end of payment period (End of semester).
- Is my SAP calculated at the end of the first 8-weeks?
- No, SAP (Satisfactory Academic Progress) is calculated at the end of the payment period (End of semester) and will determine financial aid eligibility for the following semester.
- What happens to my financial aid if I finish my first 8-weeks course(s) but decide not to attend second 8-week courses?
- Student is eligible for financial aid on any enrolled course(s) as of reporting date for the first and second 8-week course(s). Student must drop second 8-week courses before reporting date for financial aid eligibility or before first class day to avoid tuition and fee charges since financial aid will not cover for dropped course(s) before reporting date.
- What happens if I withdraw my classes before/after reporting date?
- A Return to Title IV calculation will be processed. Student will receive an email indicating the adjusted financial aid disbursement. As a result, the student may end up owing the institution for the amount of unearned aid initially disbursed to the student account.
- Can my financial aid be authorized if I decide to register for the second 8-week courses only at the end of the first 8-weeks?
- Yes, students registering at a later date for second 8-week courses only are eligible to receive financial aid funds.
- I registered full time (12SCH) the first 8-weeks and decide to register for additional course(s) after my 8-week courses have ended. Will Financial aid pay for any additional courses(s)
- Financial aid disburses a maximum of 12SCH. per semester.
