Program Overview
The Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to prepare students for employment in the healthcare field by developing the skills necessary to safely and effectively collect blood specimens for diagnostic testing. This comprehensive course combines classroom instruction with onsite clinical training to ensure students are proficient in venipuncture, capillary collection, and specimen handling procedures.

Credential Information
Credential Attained:
Upon completion of the program, students will have the opportunity to challenge the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) exam. Additionally, students can obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and a Certificate of Completion with CEUs.

Exam Format:
The NHA CPT exam consists of 100 multiple-choice questions, with a 2-hour time limit. It is delivered online at approved NHA testing centers. Exam domains include:
- Safety and Compliance
- Patient Preparation
- Routine Blood Collection
- Special Collections
- Processing
A passing score is required to earn certification.
Includes clinical/practicum hours.
Registration Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Clean criminal background
- Must have reliable transportation to attend clinical hours
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Proof of required immunizations
Additional Notes
Program uniform is required; details will be provided upon registration. Students must be available for both classroom and clinical training components.
