Student Organizations
Laredo College encourages the formation of any worthwhile student organization. Student organizations are formed to enhance social, recreational, educational, or cultural needs of LC students. Students are encouraged to join existing organizations on campus or to create a new organization of their choice. A current listing of organizations can be obtained from the Office of Student Life or by visiting the menu on the left.
Information on gaining official status as an organizaiton is available in the Student Life office. All student organizations must have a faculty advisor, student officers, and a constitution which clearly states the purpose of the organization. The constitution and purpose must be in harmony with the philosophy and mission program of the college.
The Student Life Office will support officially recognized organizations by providing organizational assistance and leadership training information. The organizations are encouraged to utilize the Marketing and Public Relations Office to promote organization events.
A Student Organizations Rules and Regulations Handbook with detailed information for student organizations may be obtained at the Student Life Office. An application for recognition and a minimum of seven LC students and a constitution must be submitted for approval. A student organization's membership consists of students enrolled at Laredo College. Membership must be opened to all LC students who meet the established guidelines. Membership will not be denied for reasons relating to disability, race, creed, sex, age, color or national origin.
