Professional Bus Driver
Entry-Level Driver Training Program
The bus driving program will prepare students with the basic knowledge and skills to successfully pass the Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) Class B exam. Instruction includes preparation for mastery of the CDL written examination needed to obtain the requirements for a Class-B CDL and Commercial Learners Permit (CLP) to operate a Passenger Bus for training purposes on public roads with a CDL-licensed instructor. In addition, there is in-depth coverage of the pre-trip inspection, in-cab airbrake test, parallel parking of a vehicle designed to transport passengers, proper shifting, right and left-hand turns, movement in traffic, highway and city driving, backward movement, and control.
*Note: In order to fulfill the program requirements, it is necessary to successfully finish both CVOP 1005 and CVOP 1011.
